A Night at the Opera

A Concert of Popular Arias

8 pm on 23 February
in the Grand Hall of the BiH Parliament

Artists of the Sarajevo Opera, the Sarajevo Philharmonic Orchestra and others are preparing a one-off concert of the best of opera – the arias we all know and love – which promises to be a night to remember.

Singers, musicians and conductors are performing free to raise funds for urgent medical treatment for Sanela Redžepagić, a gifted young Sarajevo mezzo-soprano with breast cancer.

Soloists include Amila Bakšić, Melisa Hajrulahović, Denis Isaković, Ivana Kladarin Ivaković, Adema Pljevljak Krehić, Armando Puklavec, Ivica Šarić and Tvrtko Stipić.

They will be singing favourite arias from Bellini’s La Sonnambula, Bizet’s Carmen, Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’Amore, Mozart’s Magic Flute and Don Giovanni, Puccini’s La Bohème, Rachmaninoff’s Aleko, Verdi’s Rigoletto and many more in a not-to-be-missed concert for all music lovers.

Samra Gulamović, Julio Marić, Emir Nuhanović, and Dario Vučić will be among the conductors during the evening.

This live concert combining many of the most recognizable melodies from the greatest operas ever written and many of Southeastern Europe’s finest singers will take place on Saturday 23 February in the Grand Hall of the Parliament of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Tickets cost 50 KM per person and can be reserved by sending a message to friendsofsanela@gmail.com. They should be collected and paid for in advance of the concert. They may also be bought from the National Theatre box office (Obala Kulina Bana 9) on 033 221 682 between 9 and 12 am and 4 and 7.30 pm every day apart from Sunday.

All proceeds from the event will be collected by the women’s association BISER International and will be used to pay for surgery in Italy.
